Last Sunday was The 54th Grammy Awards (or as I like to refer to them, "The GLAMmy's") a star studded night of musical performances & tributes. For me, this years GLAMmy's was the perfect solution to my birthday nail dilemma; I knew I wanted something glitzy (shocker) but it was Miss Adele's famous words who sealed my nail fate.
As you may know Adele had a clean sweep taking home 6 for 6 (!) including song & album of the year, it truly was the AdeleAwards. During her acceptance speech for album of the year she gave a shout out saying "Mom, Gold Is Good!" Adele, I couldn't agree more! So this is my GLAMmy's inspired Dripping in Gold Look!
What you need:
Essie Luxeffects - as gold as it gets w Urban Outfitters - Nude 4 w Sally Hansen Insta-Dri w paint brush 1/8"
For my base coat I used Urban Outfitters Nude 4
I adore this polish & I beg Urban Outfitters to re-release it this summer!
(pretty please with a cherry on top!)
Paint a thin line of as gold as it gets along the tip of your nails don't worry about being super neat because your going to go over it again. I did this on every nail with the exception of the accent nail, my ring finger. For this step I applied the same techniques for a Reverse Glitter French using my paint brush.
(For the next steps if you chose to do an accent nail just do everything in opposition)
Once that dries a bit, add a second layer of as gold as it gets, this time starting about half way down your nail.
Take your paint brush and begin pulling some of the polish down towards your cuticle. Think random rain drops on a window vs an even line. Using your paint brush add random dots of glitter on any spaces that you think you need to fill to achieve a gradual fade.
Allow it to dry & add your quick dry top coat & you should be good as gold. ;)
